Chapter 21 “Well,” I said, trying to hide my funny look, thinking who it might be. “That’s great!” I was still thinking who she moved on with, Andy? Victor? “Andy?! What were you thinking about?” She choked. “Well, I thought…” I hesitated, “Nothing, just forget it. Never mind.” There’s no way Andy is going to show his true feeling now, it will just be too early. Besides, if he admits his admiration for Helen now, it’ll make it obvious that he planned all this. So, that explains that. I was too shocked to think of the other possibility. So, that means, it’s Victor, Helen is now moving on with. I don’t know why, I feel like I ate a sock. Not that there’s something wrong with Victor, I don’t know, all this seemed so well planned. No, there’s no way I’m going to believe Andy’s crap about Victor. “Whatever then, by the way, Victor is inviting us to his place for dinner tomorrow. Bring that Andy guy too.” Helen said after a long pause. “Why? Did Victor particularly mention him?” A stain of fear rushed across my face. I don’t know why, I’m a little bit allergic to the work ‘Victor’ and ‘Andy’ especially when they were put together, like they will burn or something. Maybe it’s because they way they reacted the last time they met. “Yeah. It’s a bit weird alright. Who cares? Maybe they knew each other.” Helen replied, hiding something behind her back. “Hey! What’s that you’re hiding?” I called as I saw something disappeared in a flash. “Nothing, really.” She said vaguely, “Just some…scratch paper.” Then she suddenly threw the pieces in the dust bin. I knew it; it was the pieces of that notebook full of Todd’s name. I knew it, she wasn’t quite over it, not yet. “Helen, don’t hid your true feelings from me.” I looked rather serious. “Ok, I’m not totally over it. But I’ll try to be, don’t worry, ok?” So that took care of that. Just then the bell rang again, time for Physics. Still very boring though, but better than Algebra anyway. Mr. Hank carried on talking about electric charge. Oh, gosh, Andy passed me a note. Jessica, my parents would like to invite you for dinner today. Would you come? Bring Helen too… Oh my god! He asked me to bring Helen, what else could that have meant. But of course I didn’t say that, for sure. I need to take my time to set revenge. So I wrote back. Great, of course I’d come. Yes and I’ll ask Helen to come too. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to tell you. Victor, you know that guy in Club Nova (of course he knew) invited us to dinner tomorrow. He would particularly like you to be there. And that’s when he turned all pale.
