“Would you let that zip alone?!” I shrieked. “Helen, remember my words, your weakness will betray yourself one day.” Helen finally managed to raise her head, without fiddling with her zip. But that was when I disappeared into darkness. Really, this couldn’t have gotten us anywhere, with her weakness. Getting revenge, for instance, is always a service of a best friend. But I must obey to the rule that if she didn’t appreciate it, I’ll have to leave it there. Sometimes it’s sad, to watch people you cared for in great misery and pain, and not able to do anything. That’s exactly the situation I am in now. But I shall respect her decision, it’s her choice anyway, and being a decent friend is accepting that. Only it left me with great pity and sorrow. While I was deep in thoughts I bumped into Andy, who was already waiting for us outside the school gate. And I realized that I forgot to tell Helen about dinner with Andy. He was a bit surprised when he saw me coming alone, and looked over my shoulders as if looking for someone else. I could tell by his puzzled expression. “Where’s Helen?” Andy seemed to be a bit too anxious, which bugged me a little. I didn’t like the idea Andy only invited me because he wanted Helen to be there. But I put on a smile unwillingly, of course, I had to act. I don’t want him to know that I knew his nasty little plan, which was the last thing I wanted. “Oh, um I forgot to tell her. But I bet she is coming out soon.” And a tall figure appeared; I bet she had done fixing her zip. Andy waved energetically at her, which I frowned at, I guess he didn’t notice anyway. “What’s up, you guys?” She greeted as she approached us. “Nothing’s up, everything is down because of the gravity.” I replied, a little getting at her. I was still a little angry at her for teaching me how to forgive. “HaHa, Jessica’s classic old joke.” Andy laughed at that, but it was a fake laugh. I don’t find it funny. “Helen, Jessy probably forgot to tell you. I’m inviting you two for dinner today. Well, actually my mom did.” Andy said. “Oh, alright then. I’ll call my mom to make sure she knows.” Poor Helen wasn’t suspecting a thing. “What are we waiting for?” I got a bit impatient. “My mom, she’ll be picking us up.” Replied Andy. His mom? I’ve never met her before; I was told she was Spanish. I hate hanging with mystery woman. But to find out what really was going on with Andy, it’s worth it.
