Chapter 9 The car spun back at the corner, I leaned to the glass and sat upright. We were driving back, I could tell. “Andy, what are you doing?” I shrieked. “Club Nova is on the opposite direction!” His eyes blinked grimly through the mirror. Something is going wrong, I decided. I wanted to smash his head with something but I dared not move, he could see my every movement in the mirror. I panicked in fear, scratched the seat belt, making grating sounds. There’s something poisonous in this atmosphere, I couldn’t catch my breath. All I could hear was my pounding heart and this terrible silence. The silence seemed so long, and so loud in me. “Andy,” I could hardly talk. “Why are we going back, huh? Did…did you forget anything?” I didn’t think so. He didn’t even bother to look back, all I could feel is this horrible silence. For god’s sake, say something! “Andy! Answer my question! I mean now!” I was screaming at the top of my lungs. He stared at me with same cold eyes which made me a bit regret for what I did. I grabbed a stuffed bunny toy and cast at him. It got him on the head, but it was a soft toy anyway. Andy shook his head and the car wobbled from side to side. “Don’t you do that again.” He warned, looking really angry. I trembled from head to toe. I wished dad came along with me. The car stopped suddenly with great force. “Excuse me, sir. Can you show me your license please?” The police came. He probably noticed the wobbling part. I saw a stream of light and hope. I sat there, waiting to see Andy’s reaction. He showed the police a small piece of card (I didn’t see clearly what it was), the police nodded at him, smiling. That took me by surprise; Andy doesn’t have a license, that one must be fake! Any way, that was my only chance to get away. “Sorry. Err… that license…” I began. Andy frowned at me, trying to give a signal. A cold shiver ran down my spine, also sweating on the forehead. “Actually, I…” I dared not say anymore. Andy held out something under my legs. It was pointy, like a blade. “I…” I continued. “Yes?” The nice policeman was smiling at me. “What is it? Is there anything I can do?” If only she knew the situation. Just then, Andy pressed a little harder against me with that blade. “Nothing to be bothered about, sorry.” Every word seemed to pinch me. It hurted so much. The police walked away and the car started moving again. You can not possibly know how much it hurts to see all your hope walk away, just like that, when it was so near. “You’re not Andy! You bastered, what have you done with Andy?”
