“There’s got to be someone! There are more guys than girls. What about Danny? Danny Clinto?” “That’s way too disgusting and embarrassing. I’d rather go alone.” She hung up the phone. I let out a long sigh. What the hell happened to Todd? I slipped myself in that silvery-glittery dress I bought in the mall yesterday. I looked like a fish. There weren’t lots of make up, just some powder, eyeliner, mascara and perfume (at least I didn’t smell like a fish.) Everything settled. I just have to wait for Andy. Oh, here he comes, dressing like a nerdy-nerd. How embarrassing! “Bye Mum. Bye Dad.” I waved at them at the doorway. But I heard some chit-chat going on between Mum and Dad, at my back. “Antony. I think you should go with them. Like a chaperone.” Mum whispered. No! I don’t want a chaperone! “Kids, I’m not so sure. Are you sensible enough to go alone.” I stared at Dad with fishy eyes. He seemed to have noticed and eventfully soften his voice. “I was…talking about the the um… dri-ving thing.” He was getting tongue-tied. “I can handle that.” Andy replied. I’m saved at last. Hey! Wait a min, I thought we were going by bus! “Hey! Are you crazy? You don’t even have a licence!” I shrieked at him where we were out of sight. I nearly tripped over a brick. He turned back, fixed his serious expression. “This whole thing is crazy. Just get in the car and we need to talk.” I looked at his suspiciously. “Trust me.” He added. “Now what?” I asked impatiently as I took the seat belt. He kept on driving. “I thought you wanted to talk.” I nearly bumped my head, getting all confused. He remained silence. Dreadful Silence. I could feel the ghastfulness in the air. He was still driving. I saw his cold eyes through the reflecting mirror.
